Dr James Tran
Principal Dentist & Founder
Dr James Tran founded Lumi Dental after more than a decade working in practices across Queensland and New South Wales. He built the clinic around a straightforward idea: give people genuine time with their dentist, explain things in plain language, and be upfront about every cost and option from the very first visit.
Dr Tran holds a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Oral Implants, and is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He also teaches on the General Dental Residency programme, training dentists across Australia, and is a regular guest on dental podcasts and in industry publications. His clinical work spans general and family dentistry, dental implants, and cosmetic treatment planning, with a focus on careful diagnosis and considered treatment.
He works primarily with patients who have been putting the dentist off, whether from nerves, cost, or simply life getting in the way, and takes the time to talk through options before anything begins. Outside the clinic, Dr Tran continues his teaching and mentoring work with other dentists.

Dentist
Dr Audrey Yee brings a warm, considered approach to every appointment, with a focus on helping patients feel informed and unhurried as they weigh their options.
Dr Yee earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Western Australia, where her degree was awarded with distinction. She has a particular interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry, and takes the time to talk through the choices available so each patient can decide what is right for them.
That patient, explain-as-we-go manner fits naturally with the way Lumi Dental works, where longer appointments and open conversation are part of every visit.
Away from the clinic, Audrey is usually seeking out the newest restaurant in town or planning her next holiday.
